Silla + Koryu + Choson

In 108 A.D. the Hans conquered most of Korea and established a military government. While the Hans ruled, the Koreans began to gather in federations in three different kingdoms. With these three dynasties, different clans/tribes controlled different parts. They divided into three empires. In the 600s A.D. the Silla defeated the two others, ran out the Chinese and gained control over the whole Korean peninsula. The Silla built Buddhist temples and made stone and bronze sculptures. The Silla also created a Korean writing system, but still used the Chinese's style of writing. The total area they covered was the size of Utah. The climate was very hot in the summer and veyr cold in the winter. The land was extremely mountainous. The Silla, Koryu, and Choson also used the Civil Service System like the Tang dynasty. By rhe 10th century, Silla had weakend and in 935 A.D. Wang Kon (a rebel officer) took control and became emperor. He named this new period the Koryu. The Koryu lasted four and a half centuries (935-1392A.D.). Modeled their government after the Chinese. Also used the civil service system, which did not help as much as it helped the Chinese. In 1231A.D. the Koryu had a major threat. The Mongols came after Korea and demanded 20,000 horses, clothing for a million soldiers, and children to be used as slaves. This lasted until the 1360s A.D. when the Mongols ended. In 1392 a group of scholars overthrew the Koryu and established the Choson dynasty, which lasted for 518 years.
